Directed by Renny Harlin (Deep Blue Sea, The Strangers trilogy), the killer shark action thriller swims into theaters on May 1 via Magenta Light Studios.
The film follows an eclectic group of international passengers whose plane, en route from Los Angeles to Shanghai, is forced to make an emergency landing in the shark-infested waters of the Pacific Ocean.
The terrified survivors are forced to work together and overcome their differences if they hope to escape their sinking plane and the frenzy of sharks drawn to the wreckage.
Aaron Eckhart (The Dark Knight), Ben Kingsley (Shutter Island), Molly Belle Wright (The Best Christmas Pageant Ever), Angus Sampson (Insidious), Kelly Gale (Plane), and Li Wenhan (of K-pop group UNIQ) star.
“Deep Water represents the kind of movie I’ve dreamed of making since I grew up loving the ’70s disaster movies,” Harlin previously commented. “Spectacular action and unforgettable characters who didn’t leave a dry eye in the movie theater.”
